Hi can you elaborate how vertica decompress the data during query ? Did it need to decompress the entire column file in the case of selecting small part of it or he has the ability a to decompress only partial ?

    Vertica has capability to scan compressed data files. In case of selecting the small part entire column is not scanned but the limited part (specific ros containers) are scanned.
